Which film character are you most like?

As much as we all like to see ourselves as complete and utter one-offs, it’s inevitable that we sometimes stumble upon folks that remind us of others and even (horror!) ourselves, be it in personality, looks, voice or something less obvious like how we slurp coffee. That many turn up in the realm of fiction adds a level of comfort (they’re not real – phew!), one which can be swiftly undone when these imaginary twins are caught on film (or indeed TV), their physical resemblances now captured and played up. Sometimes these parallels can be flattering, like being told you play football like David Beckham or less than complimentary (trust us – this isn’t pleasant), but either way we’re intrigued by this relationship between us as real people, and those up on the big screen and so this week’s head-scratcher for Team Boxwish is simply: “Which film character are you most like?”

Katie: “In actuality I’m probably a combination of Sally (Meg Ryan) from When Harry Met Sally, Gracie (Sandra Bullock) from the Miss Congeniality movies and Miranda (Cynthia 7Nixon) from Sex and the City. But ultimately, I’m going to reveal my gooey soft spot for Disney animations and say Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Okay, so her name means beauty and mine, er doesn’t (it’s actually pure fact fans), she lives in an enchanted castle (more like a modest semi) and is constantly breaking into song (which I don’t for the good of us all), but I like to kid myself that there are some similarities. Now all I need is that gold ball gown…”

Ella: “I’ve been told I‘m a bit like Enid from Ghost World a few times which I’m not too sure about, I do change my hair colour pretty often but it’s not been blue yet unfortunately. I am jealous of her though, she’s amazing at drawing and I’d kill for a rubber Catwoman mask like hers. Not so sure I’d want to be hanging out with Seymour all that much though.”

Lucy: “I wasn’t quite sure about this one, so I took a test online. The results were a little disappointing to say the least – Susan Pevensie. It said: “You are Susan Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia! You are the best female archer ever, but you are very logical and ‘realistic’ about things. You sometimes take the roll of ‘mother’, but you rock anyway!” I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it was a bit more exciting than that. Plus I’ve not touched a bow and arrow since Guide camp. I might try it again (the test, not archery).”

Tim: “Well, I guess I’d want to be compared to the über-cool Tony Stark (Iron Man) but I’m probably more like Po (Kung Fu Panda)!”

Steve: “I really wish I was like someone cool like Wesley from Wanted or Batman but I’m most often compared to Eeyore by my friends because I’m grumpy all the time. I do have a friend who to this day still calls me Hedge after Steve the Hedge from Over the Hedge.”

Nic: “I have the nickname pirate due to my likeness to Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball, which is pretty cool. I think I am more like Matthew McConaughey…. cos I can’t act either! People also say I look like Michael Rapaport.”
